Module surface is painted with household latex paint to avoid white plaster showing later on.
Road is made using 2 mm foamboard, painted and weathered.
Befora placing the road, track is airbrushed using Vallejo Medium Brown (Air Color). Both rails and ties are airbrushed to reduce the plastic shine of the ties and then the top of the rails is cleaned with scrap (soft) wood while the paint is not completely dry. Later on, random ties will get different brown/grey/black washes.
Road is made from one piece and the cut over the tracks. Extra length is cut flush with the edges of module and sanded. It is glued to surface using constuction glue.
Grade crossing is made using wooden stirring sticks. Individual boards are engraved into the sticks which are then glued to the tracks itself. Edges are beveled to prevent catching anything going over it.
