Assembly of first few modules is done. Today Oli drilled remaining holes and cut last pair of profile boards. He also sanded cuts from last work session. Meanwhile, Davor and Boki assembled first module. We use wood glue and finishing nails for assembly. Corner clamps are holding module parts together during this process.
Since modules are of different shape and size there are lot of pieces (around 40 sizes). To prevent errors during assembly we first “dry fit” set for one module to confirm we have correct parts (with matching holes and profiles). On our second module we put profile boards wrong way but managed to fix that before glue has set. One pair of cross members ended up being little longer than needed but that is nothing that Oli can’t fix with a saw.
Dubravko will assemble his own modules (barge segment of the layout) so rest of us will make remaining modules. There are 6 of them but they are made of 12 separate module/boxes. For the first session we managed to put together 6 of those boxes.
